FIB 2011
Well it is an odd day for @thisisfib when one has to do something without the other, and it is with a strange loneliness that I, Anita Darling, make my wAy up to Benicassim from Valencia, on my own without my partner-in-crime and teammate extraordinaire, Lolita Devine. The poor love is stranded in Germany, of all places, and so I must endure numb bum on the hard seats of the regional train alone. As is my life at the moment, my journey has not been without its ups And downs. First, it appears there was something on the tracks on my first metro, causing us to dramAtically screech to a halt, the driver slamming on the brakes and the horn simultaneously, inducing much panic in old ladies and young babies alike. Whether it was merely a rat on the line or we ran over an entire family of sewer dwellers remains A mystery, but it certainly got the adrenalin pumping. Then, getting onto the metro, my fab new ketchup-red sandals, essential for s/s 2011 colourblocking, got caught on something on my trolley suitcase which then got caught in the door, and now I’ve had to ask someone in the train station for a rubber band, to hold my left sandal together and prevent me from dragging my foot behind me in “the bells, the bells!” fashion. I found a good seat on the train, ate my packed lunch before we even left the station, and promptly passed out, exhausted, only to be woen by a security guard 40min later, who was worried I migaht “fall on the floor”. I was dangerously close to the edge of my seat, ‘tis true. And now as soon as I get there, I’m getting picked up by some very lovely friends, who despite being no replacement for my Lolita (big love, girlfriend!) are pretty good fun indeed. Bring on the Arctic Monkeys, Mumford boys, Primal Scream and more! Thank god I brought spare shoes….
